Dr. Patel fully qualified General Practitioner and works throughout Devon and Cornwall. He qualified in Zambia in 1982. He trained and practiced in general surgery in hospitals in Manchester and Torquay. He undertook his GP training in Devon.

Dr Patel began specialising in Aesthetic Medicine in 2003 and has built up a substantial amount of experience. Since 2003 he has continued his training so as to offer a wider range of Non Surgical Rejuvenation Treatments. Treatments that he specialises in include Laser & IPL, Anti Wrinkle , Dermal Fillers ( Radiesse, Juvéderm ULTRA and Restylane), Dermaroller, Mesotherapy, Chemical Skin Peels and Dermabrasion.
Among the first clinics to offer the Cosmetic Radiosurgery for moles, warts and other skin lesions. St Mellion Cosmetic Clinic is also the first laser clinic in Cornwall providing laser/IPL treatment for all skin types and Nd YAG Laser Tattoo removal.
